Moments that melt my heart…

Filed under: The girls | Tags: | March 28th, 2012

Times like these make being a mom worth it! Any mother’s wish is that their children will love each other, stand up for each other, and play with one another- truly become best friends. Mine is no different, so when I see moments like these my heart really does melt.

Oh Anna…

Anna’s new love in life is coloring. She will take a notebook and pen, marker, highlighter, crayon, or colored pencil around ALL DAY. She will sit for an hour just coloring in her notebook or on a piece of paper. And, so far she is ambidextrous. When she is tired of coloring with one hand she’ll just switch to the other one.

She also loves to do “dancing” and be a “ba-weeena”

Gotta love this crazy girl!

Oh Gracie…

This is how I knew Gracie is really Tim’s daughter. I found her happy as a clam- eating peanut butter out of the jar…not my idea of a yummy snack.

Daddy and his girls

My girls LOVE their daddy time, here are a few shots of them playing with daddy-

Horsing around

Would you like to dance daddy?                                                                                                                                                   Why YES I would!

I even got time with him! This is us at the BYUI Valentine’s dance- my parents and brother and sister in law came too but my battery died before we got a group shot :(

What parents can’t do

Well, when grandma and grandpa are around parents seem pretty useless around here. Nothing I do is good enough, grandma and grandpa are necessary for everything- stories, snuggles, playing with toys, dishing food onto plates at dinner, buckling seat belts, hand holding, you name it and grandma or grandpa can do it better!

Grandpa makes a much better chair at lunch time

Coloring with Grandma

My dad has a soft spot for his girls and this has been passed onto his granddaughters. What this picture doesn’t show is that Gracie and her cousin have just finished painting his toe nails- in at least 5 different colors. Is there any other grandpa out there who would allow this to happen for the sole purpose of making 2 sweet girls happy?!

Sleepy snuggles

Now, we don’t get to see Grandma and Grandpa Robison as often as we’d like but Grandma does know how to send AWESOME packages. This came in the mail the other day and has been loved since the moment she saw it. It is her cuddle buddy for naps, friend to read books with, and makes her smile so big she can’t even keep her eyes open- thanks Grandma!

Anna is 2

Happy birthday Anna- well a couple of weeks ago that is. Anna’s birthday was a day of happiness. She had family over for a birthday breakfast of waffles with ice cream, jam, and strawberries followed by opening presents. Yes, we open presents in the morning and a day of happiness follows. Gracie was just as happy as Anna (maybe happier) to see the new presents and share in the joy of new toys. Luckily Anna was thrilled to have her sister play with her all day. Then she had more family over for a spaghetti dinner and ice cream cones for dessert- plus she got to stay in her pajamas all day. Yep, it was a good day!

**SNOW**

Here are my little marshmallows all decked out to play in the snow. With so few snow days this winter, we had to take advantage when they came. Even Tim couldn’t resist going out to play with his girls! I love little red noses and the shivering request for hot cocoa when they finally come inside. There is a lot of fun to be had in the snow.

Does your house ever look like this?

Filed under: Random, The girls | Tags: | January 25th, 2012

So does it? Because mine doesn’t. I had to look all over to find a house like this to use as an example for my blog (ummmm……is that MY daughter in the pics?)

I know the pictures aren’t ‘that bad’ but on this particular day, it was simply too much. I was finally getting something done when I realized that I hadn’t seen the girls for a while. When I left my haven of the office, this is what I found. Trailing clothes that went from the drawers, down the hall, to the far side of the living room, popcorn to follow (I know, who leaves children unsupervised with popcorn- apparently I do…) and toys to follow the clothes and popcorn.

Any guesses as to what was in the tent? Yes indeed, more of the same! Of course the popcorn seemed to inspire some tea parties- 3 to be exact in different locations….

As my mom says, some days are like that, even in Australia.

My lil girlies

Sometimes you just have to document the funny things your children do- whether the world will think they are as adorable as I do, well that just doesn’t matter now does it?!

Anna has become a ipod lover, it has soothed her soul on many sad days and now she knows how to get to the music and the watch faces…yep my daughter knows more about technology at 2 than I did at 18.

A new toy at our house is Tim’s new iphone, he has found many fun things to do on it and so has Gracie- in fact the first time she played a game on it she asked if she could buy an app with her allowance! Needless to say she has very limited time with the phone…

Here are some fun things we’ve been up to lately-

Spinning on the office chair with grandma

A new princess tent

picnics and tea parties

taking care of babies

It’s always fun around here!

Post Christmas Post

Well, we had a wonderful Christmas this year- as always! Here are some of the things I missed this month as I was busily getting ready for Christmas…

Making sugar cookies with Gracie and painting on the icing with both girls- we all had a good time. (both of the girls are wearing dress-ups)

And some good together play time-

My little Anna-

And this has been my Christmas project for the last year or so…it’s done!!! (well, I have some more ornaments to make, but the hard part is done) A yo-yo advent!  I got the idea from here and have been working on it for a while. Hundreds of yo-yo’s and then you stitch them all together, add some buttons to the tree (I did colored ones to look like colored lights) and some buttons to the bottom to hang the ornaments on (still need to add those) plus the ornaments and you have an advent!
